Hi, I’m Julica.
I help recovering over-achievers embrace life beyond perfectionism.
Perfectionism is the paralyzing, soul-sucking belief that you’re not good enough yet. Just one more pass, one more look, one more revision is needed before you can bring your gifts out into the world.
Perfectionism is being overwhelmed by a lie: as soon as I’m thinner, more spiritual, more patient with my kids, more organized at work, more giving in my community – then I will be happy.
Perfectionism keeps us stuck in outdated and unhealthy patterns: some of us can’t get started, some of us don’t know when to quit.
Here’s what I’ve figured out: perfectionism can actually prevent us from taking the small turtle steps needed to get where we want to go. Or, we run ourselves into the ground because self-care isn’t on our to-do list.
Either way, we are missing out on the joyful moments of our lives — the lives we actually have, with the people who know us and love us and are waiting for us to show up.
Loving the life we have is what I call post-perfectionism.
Post-perfectionism is the whole-hearted embrace of the present moment, who you are and how you can serve. Once you accept and fully show up in the present moment, you will be astounded at the possibilities that present themselves for you to live the epic life you crave, making a big difference in the things that matter most to you.
Here’s the cliff notes version of what I’ve learned on the post-perfectionist path:
- Treat every project and life goal as an experiment, and every outcome as useful data.
- Listen to your body. What feels right for you right now?
- Stay connected to Spirit. You are part of something bigger.
- You are not responsible for the outcome, but you *are* responsible for showing up.
- It’s OK to feel unmoored and floaty…post-perfectionism means you’re carrying a lot less crap around.
